Shopify Sale Ended but Prices Didn't Revert: How to Fix It

The sale has ended, but the storefront still shows the discounted prices. This is stressful because every order at the wrong price costs margin. Work through it in order and avoid the one action that makes recovery harder.

Why prices do not revert on their own

• The prices were edited directly, and Shopify does not restore edited prices automatically.
• The sale app applied a discount but had no restore step, or the restore failed.
• A scheduled job did not run, often due to a timezone or end-time error.
• The app was uninstalled before the sale ended, so it lost access to change prices back.

First, do not uninstall the app

If a sale app is still installed, leave it installed until prices are fixed. Uninstalling revokes the app's Shopify API access, and after that no app can edit your prices. Recover first, decide about the app later.

Preserve the current state

Export the affected products before making another change: product and variant IDs, SKUs, current prices, and compare-at prices. This records the state you are about to repair and gives you a way back if a fix goes wrong.

Find the real original prices

1. A snapshot or export made before the sale.
2. The sale app's own backup, if it has one.
3. An older Shopify product export.
4. A supplier or internal price sheet.

Do not reverse-calculate the original from the sale price. If discounts differed across collections or variants, a flat percentage reversal produces wrong prices.

Restore in small batches

Fix a few representative variants first with the bulk editor or a CSV import, verify the storefront and cart, then restore the rest in batches and keep every import file.
